Teko is a local-first training app: your data stays on your device, encrypted, and the app works without sending it anywhere. This policy describes exactly what is stored, the little that leaves the device, and what you can do about it.

Who is responsible

Your data is processed by Gabriel Velasco, an individual, acting as data controller under Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD, Law No. 13,709/2018). Contact for anything in this policy, including exercising your rights: tekoappsuporte@gmail.com.

Where your data lives

Everything you record in Teko is written only to your device. Workouts, runs, check-ins, profile, measurements and health data live in an encrypted database (SQLCipher, AES-256), whose key is randomly generated on first launch and kept in the operating system's secure store (Android Keystore). Neither the developer nor any third party can read that database.

This includes your conversations with Teko Intelligence and any answers you flag: they live in the same encrypted database and are deleted along with the app's data.

Teko does not keep a copy of your data on any server today. If that changes, this policy will be updated first — and any upload will be optional, encrypted on your device, and switched on by you.

What Teko stores

Sensitive data and consent

Pain, injury, menstrual cycle, body measurements and health data are sensitive personal data (LGPD art. 5, II). They are processed on the basis of your specific, highlighted consent (art. 11, I): none of it is required, every module is optional, and you can delete all of it at any time. Cycle tracking in particular is off by default and exists only if you turn it on.

What leaves your device

This list is deliberately short, and it is exhaustive:

What never leaves, under any circumstance: your training history, your pain and injury reports, your cycle, your measurements, your GPS routes and the app database.

No advertising, no analytics, no tracking

Teko does not show ads, does not use analytics or profiling tools, does not send automatic crash reports, and does not share or sell data to third parties for marketing. There is no advertising identifier and no tracking cookies.

Health Connect

If you authorise it, Teko reads steps, distance, calories, exercise, heart rate, sleep, weight and height from Health Connect, so it does not ask again for what your device already knows. That reading happens on the device, the data goes into Teko's encrypted database and is not sent anywhere. The authorisation is optional and can be revoked whenever you like, in Settings › Data and privacy › Privacy and your data, or from Health Connect itself.

Location

Location is used only during a GPS run you start, to measure distance and pace and to draw the route. While a run is active there is a foreground service with a visible notification, so tracking continues with the screen off. Teko does not track your location in the background outside a run, and the route is never used in analytics, in Teko Intelligence or in diagnostic records.

Diagnostics and logs

Teko writes no log file to the device. Recent technical events live in memory only, pass through an automatic redaction layer that removes personal and health data, and disappear when the app closes. You can read that report in full in Settings › About › Diagnostic report and decide whether to copy it when asking for support — nothing is sent automatically.

Who your data is shared with

Nobody, other than the providers strictly necessary for the features above:

How long we keep it

Nothing expires on its own: your history stays on the device for as long as you want it, because it is what gives your progress meaning. When you delete, deletion is immediate and permanent — there is no cloud copy to restore from, and the developer cannot recover it. Uninstalling the app also removes the database.

Your rights

The LGPD (art. 18) grants you confirmation of processing, access, correction, anonymisation, portability, deletion, information about sharing, and withdrawal of consent. In Teko these are exercised directly in the app, without having to file a request:

If you prefer to exercise any right in writing, write to tekoappsuporte@gmail.com. We reply within 15 days.

Security

AES-256 encrypted database, key held in the system secure store, all traffic over HTTPS, cleartext traffic blocked by configuration, and the app refuses to run on rooted devices. Details in Security.

Minimum age

Teko is intended for people aged 18 and over and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from minors; if that happens, write to the contact above and it will be deleted.

Changes to this policy

Material changes — in particular any transmission of data to a server — will be announced in the app before they take effect, and the date at the top of this page will be updated.
